Passing this along as requested.. Before and after photos of my ECO 97 that I recently restored. I sandblasted off three coats of paint. The original color was green. I am guessing that it was at a Cities Service station. I sprayed it yellow with some leftover paint that i had used on a pump a few years ago. I think it came out well. Thanks A lot, Brian Spear (Gasmelincelr) Thanks, Brian for sharing the pics. We love to see this stuff. ------------------ Jim "Oldgas" PottsYour host and moderator

That is a nice paint shade. I recently picked this up for my collection. An ECO #97 that came out of an Old Mobil Utility Station. It's as found, unrestored & unmolested and was assembled with this paint shade known as Bahama Beige. It's dated 1969 and been indoors it's whole life.It has an original hose w/light kit added inside and still works accurately & easily. [This message has been edited by coldpizza (edited 12-01-2006).]

That made my mind up. They don't have to be red to be right. Mine is getting the same dark blue as my Sunoco script top!! That way it will compliment and not clash. Thanks for sharing the pictures

I think you can paint one of these air meters most any color, and it is still correct. I had decided to paint this one red, because that seems to be the thing to do. Then when I took it all apart to do the bodywork I could see the original green paint, so i figured why not go with a real eye catching yellow and make it more unique.

Wow, that is quite a paint job. I had a hard enough time with one color.

Very nice. I love the Poly. And the chrome Rhodes parking meter. I have a double Rhodes in my collection. They are addictive little buggers. You ask what is a bugger? Everything that I collect that bugs my Wife! Mike

I know this might be a funny looking air meter but I saw another one like it so I had to post it. Oh, sorry guys, it is not an air meter. My Wife says it is all the hot air I expell when I am around it. LOL Mike

Mobil100- I have taken my last four pumps to a bodyman at a local shop. I'm wondering what his responce might be if I told him "I came up with a four color combination"(LOL)That meter is RRRREAL Nice. Did you have the parking meter plated? or did you buy it that way? I bet it would cost a small fortune to have one chromed. Kurt
