A friend of mine knows I collect gas pumps and told me of one close to his house. We found several more close by. One is a National A38, one is a National A62, the other is a Tokheim visible(I think). The National A62, I was able to talk to the owner (which was crazy as a loon) said he was going to try to get it going again one day, not for sale. He was 80 and living in a van on his old homestead. The house he was born in was beside the van, all that remained was the two chimney's. The A62 is sitting in front of a building that looks like an old xxx whiskey jug. He did however let me give an offer on the two Gilbarco's and the Erie 743 around back. He said he would speculate on it and call me, he had NO phone. He borrowed my cell phone to call his girlfriend to come and get him for his once a-week bath, needless to say he smelled rough!!!

Hope this works, first time posting pictures. Sorry about the size, don't know how to change it.

David

National A62 and I think Tokheim visible. Thought the other pump was a Nat 38 but because the the ad glass was missing. Not sure if globe is original, just said Regular Gasoline, Griffing GA.

Dick, does he look like Denver Pyle's twin brother (Uncle Jessy from the Dukes of Hazard) to you? LOL!! Ya'll should have seen the inside of that van, where he laid down to sleep is a question in itself.

Nice looking country around there, too. I spent a little time in Georgia a long time ago and always thought it would be a nice place to retire to.

Pump looks like an A-1 to me too.

David,
Change the Resolution to 72 before saving picture [it's currently 230 ]. OR, use the Thumnail links.

NATIONAL A [earlier A-1] w/ EXTURNAL SITE GLASS.
TOKHEIM VISIBLE appears to be a Model 500 w/ castiron bonnet

WOW.

Is that a globe on one of those? Neat building. Would love to peek inside.

What's in that "scrap" pile of rusted metal? Might be worth a look.

I once traded a bag of venison hotdogs and roasts (that's all he wanted, and I offered money) for a real nice oil display rack.....You never know.

Always looking for Ithaca Gun and Lucky Sam soda items!!!

Very nice find. I hear that story alot to "Naa I am going to fix it up someday" then before you know it it is gone. But what are the odds of finding a A-38 & A-62 at the same time? Not very often at all I would say. Thanks for sharing & good luck on the others
