I had a local contractor add some stairs to my deck recently. I then had an idea for a more user-friendly handrail to be made from some leftover 1 1/2" copper water pipe. I had the surplus pipe from replacing a lead pipe drain in our old house's kitchen 30+ years ago. I save stuff that I might use someday.
I bought some copper elbows and T fittings along with some bronze floor flanges. Here's a pic of how it turned out today. Yeah, I still have to stain/seal the new wood when it warms up a little.
