Hello All,

Been quite some time since I was active in the Gas and Oil collectables, so not sure how to price this. I have for sale a late 1930's American 510 (VR Computer) pump and includes a reproduction White Crown globe.

Condition: Overall excellent and 'original' paint (from it's last repaint when in use). This pump came from the Chicago area from a massive collection of all sorts of items that the owner had spent amassing over 70 years as a trash collector and recycler starting in the 1920's. It has been stored inside for over 70+ years now. Totally complete internals (the inside of the VR computer looks like brand new). Fun Fact that I just noticed from my pictures: The VR computer pins are still set to it's price when it was taken out of service and are at 10c 9c and 9/10c - so it's last price in service was 19 9/10c /gallon. Looking up the avg price of gas in late 1945 and 1946, that lines up with a 21c avg in 1946.

Few unique items about this pump. One is that it still has the City of Chicago inspection stickers on the front glass panel. One is fully readable and dates to 1945. The other two are faded, though still there and I would guess older, so likely from 1943 and 1944 inspections. I would also guess since the last one was 1945 it was taken out of service soon after that.

The Patina on the pain is quite unique - a dimpled like texture that developed over the last 7, 8 decades. You can also see see through the re-paint the original White Crown decals that were likely painted over when it's branding changed during it's service life. Once side is just visible through the paint, and the 'front' side the paint has faded away enough the decal is very visible. The Contains Lead are on both sides and also original to the pump.

It has one original milk glass 'art deco' stepped topper. And the White Crown globe is a reproduction I had acquired previously but is included.

That is all the good - the only bad thing is that it does have some slight damage to the side of the pump where the handle rests. After I bought it, unloading it by myself, I and put casters on it's base. I got it off the truck just fine, but when I started rolling it into the garage, one broke and it fell. Somehow by a miracle the remaining Art Deco top glass did not break, but it did dent the side of the pump in, and cracked the bezel around the pump switch and hose cover. I never attempted to repair it myself, but I do still have the couple of cast pieces that broke from the hose cover and the lever bezel.

Other than that, any questions please ask.
