Thanks for the great response on the last POTM, the twins. This month the word is FRY. I don't really know the history of where the name Fry came from, the company was actually called the Guaranteed Liquid Measure Company. Not counting the Wayne Roman column and some of the other rare visibles, let's face it, the Fry's are highly sought, greatly admired and they add a lot to the petro collector's world.
I wish I had one or more to shoot pictures of, maybe one day. The engineering involved with the Mae West versions was truly great. There's a lot of plumbing that fit's within Mae's skinny waist on these.
According to what I have found, all Fry's were visibles. Something neat that stands out regarding the Fry's are the many different shapes of the bodies; big, skinny, round, hexagon, Fry had them all.
Feel free to e-mail me any pictures, I will be glad to post them.
Thanks!

Neal

Below are two of my Frys. The first is a Fry 87 Tall ten gas pump. It came from Lake Krueger in Colton Nebraska. It supplied gas for partiers who came out to the rural dance hall to hear bands like Tommy Dorsey and Lawrence Welk. Just behind the pump was a beer house where the thirsty dancers could get something cool to drink. The second pump is a Model 73.

Here is my Fry that I picked up a couple of weeks ago. Someone cut an extra hole in the door to allow the regulator control to stay in the top position. Also the gallon stops are missing on the inside.

I second Bob's request, to be sure there's more than a half a dozen Frys out there.
Again, I wish I had one or a dozen to take pictures of and post!

Here is a pic of a Fry Tall Ten. It was the 1st pump I ever bought. It started by finding the cylinder in an antique store and then finding the pump to go with it. It belongs to my brother now. Please no hate mail about the coat hooks at the top of the skins!!!! He really does use it as a coat rack!!! [img=http://img198.exs.cx/img198/8396/p10007376fk.th.jpg]
