A walk back in time.
I knew there was on old Ohio Oil (Marathon) warehouse in Indy years ago. Probably built in the 1930's. That was all I knew. I ran across an address for the place today. So I took a short drive. This is what I found. Owner was very nice and let me go thru the old building.
Product storage tanks were under the driveway. A railroad track ran behind the building, overgrown now, but I was able to see remnants of some product pipes and part of a dock.
Chuck

This is a door leading out of the basement.

Very cool! Did you get to go into the basement?

The second photo is one taken in the basement. Two other rooms were filled with items stored by the present owner of the building. A powder coating company.
I have contacted a number of people hoping to find an old photo of this when The Ohio was in operation here.
I will post a few more pictures.
This was the "Original" Marathon Products supply source in Indy for stations, before the Speedway Terminal was built in 1945.

More Warehouse Photos. Notice the I beams still present, that were used to handle heavy items.

Another room in the basement.

Inside starway to the basement.

Main room upstairs.

A closer view of the far end of that room.

The pics are pretty close to a reoccuring dream I have. In my dream, that building is filled with Marathon running man signs and pumps that he wants to sell me. Cheap.
