I was wondering if some folks here would be so kind as to post pictures of Texaco Sky Chief pumps they've completed. I'm ready to paint my Wayne 70 and my first inclination is to go with the authentic aluminum paint job and make a matched set with another 70 I have for Fire Chief, but I'm looking for other creative paint schemes others may have tried.

Thanks

I went green and white two tone on my Skychief pump even though it's supposed to be Silver. I know that this is totally wrong as do most of the gas geeks on this site, but my friends, family and most of my visitors have no idea.

If nothing else it works better for Christmas and if I ever want to switch to Sinclair, no problem.

If you're trying to be authentic it's better to stick with the silver.

You might want to check the gas pump image album on this site.

Ok you talked me into it. LOL I will try to get a picture of the other half. It's a home theater over there. I don't want any home theater guys e-mailing me telling me it's wrong how i have it set up. I didn't want to build a room for just it... it works killer the way it is.

According to PCM Guide to Gas Pump Restoration the Sherwin Williams code for Texaco Silver is 42159. Should be able to cross reference it at your local paint store. (Same color as the Tin Man in the Wizard of Oz).

Hey Jarvis, let's do a gameroom post on Showcase. I think it was Scott Shipers that showed some cool photos of his brothers place around Christmas or Thanksgiving and I know that GasPumpRob has some pinball machines too. I'll send you an email.

Must be hard to play pool with those globes in the way. No wonder they're getting broken!

Chris -

It's your pump - and it's a free country - but how could you "restore" a pump to anything other than its original colors? The Texas Company was very specific that Sky Chief pumps were to be painted all aluminum with a black base, with a white-framed distinctive "Sky Chief" globe.

Hey Curt,
I think you're on to something.....Mobilgas, corner pocket. LOL.
Hey John, How about showing the other side of the Sky Chief globe with the hood on it? It wouldn't be broken, would it?
