A fellow oldgasser told me of a station that was being restored so I went to check it out and take some pictures for you guys.
Let me just say this. The pictures do this no justice at all. It is beautiful. The front of the store is filled with DX stuff and the the garage area is full of other petro goodies and a couple of cars.
The town looks like it is restoring some old buildings because this old Plymouth building was really neat as well.
Hope you enjoy the photos.................. Quartcans, thanks for the pics. As a DX collector I was wondering how long it would be until I finally saw a DX station posted here. Looks like a trip to Clinton is in order come summertime. Thanks again. Ken

That's about as nice a station as I have ever seen. Wonder how long it will take for someone to vandalize it or steal something.

The station look very good - so do the pumps, Seth!
Does anyone know if the "since 1930" is accurate -- as in, was this a DX station from the get-go? I can tell by the way the mail building (not the shop) looks that it is from the 1925-1935 period.
Reason? I'm tracking down the origins of a VERY similar building elsewhere... More on that in next month's FATW.
The plate glass corner windows are likely a later addition, but the front door is definitely original.
Remarkable station.
Wes

Nice pics, Scott! Pumps look great, Seth! The station looks terrific and the fact that people are taking the time to restore old stations, rather than destroying them and putting up parking lots and strip malls, is great to see. Hope this trend continues across the country.
