I suspect this was an old Wadhams Station in Wisconsin. I actually had talked with the owner who was willing to make a deal for the building. I wanted the roof more than anything but the owner wanted the whole thing gone. The city just had too many hoops to jump thru to remove or partially demolish and I gave up on the idea. Probably would have turned out to be more work than what it was worth. Had a lot of people lined up to help, just didn't work out but wanted to share the pic.

Well now that the weather is clearing up on the "Wet" Coast maybe some of us can get out and find some things along the way.

I'm heading down to the little town of Los Alamos this week to see if there is anything left in this old gas station. Located off Highway 101 about 45 miles north of Santa Barbara.

ROAD TRIP!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's time for some of you guys to take a road trip and show us what you've found along the way.

Here's my latest road find. Some guys are building an old time station in Lompoc, California. These guys collect farm tractors, windmills and Petro stuff.

I found this complete 70 about 20 minutes from my house. I had passed this place many times over the years and due to the grass and trees could never see it until the other day. I tried to buy to no avail, hopefully one day I can.
Thanks, Phil

I found this along the way last week. I have driven by this pump for years but could not see it due to trees and grass around it. I stopped and tried to buy it to no avail but the lady was kind enough to let me take pictures. Hopefully one day I will be able to buy it.

Thanks, Phil

Thanks, Phil

I'd love to have that tower off that Signal station. Like to see the neon lit up too on the whole station. Guess I'll have to make a road trip one of these days and see this place and the gas geeks up there in the PNW.

Best pic of the Signal station with neon lit up was on the cover of STREET RODDER last year, March 2004.

Hard to believe that the month is almost over. Appreciate all of the contributions to my first FATW Showcase. Hopefully the weather will start to clear up and some of you guys that have been buried in snow can get out and make some road trips.

Here's a snow picture sent in by Wes Maxwell of a Dino pump in front of his dads place in Ohio.

This is Wes at the Sinclair station in Kansas City, MO (Forget to ask him if he tried the local ribs). The Dino still lives.

Thanks Wes!

Just when you thought this post was over for the month.....

THIS JUST IN.

Wes Maxwell has been going through his road trip archives and sent me some photos from the Nevada desert.

Evidently this is a train filling station or a station for filling track cars. Just pull that locomotive right up to the pumps.

Don't know the story on the place below. You'll have to ask Wes.
