I bought a Tok 850 square today and have some questions. I did a search and got some information but I need more. The pump is in very good condition, someone has restored it in the past and it needs to be redone. The visi appears to be acrylic, the, what I call the collar, is stamped metal. Did they come metal and cast? The clock faces are in good condition and there is a shut off, knob, below the faces. The pump is gone and I believe the base is cast aluminum, was this original? Thanks.

Mick

Mick,
The top of the visi is stamped steel attached with a single round head slotted machine screw to a cast iron top plate. There should be an interior glass cylinder with a spinner assembly and of course an exterior glass cylinder.
The base of the pump should be cast iron.

I had one that had 950-A plates over the 850
on the faces, square body and had a short visi unit with a curved paddle wheel inside.

Flat cast top, cast bottom, aluminum paddle wheel, only one glass

Hi Mick; I have 2 square 850's one cast one stamped steel. the gas pump blue book dates the stamped steel collar made in 1933 the cast collar 1931-32 according to the serial #s on my pumps, so yes they made both. all visi-guages on my 4 850's are all the same, 2 sq. 2 round. never seen a stamped steel round yet but it's probably possible. congrats on a great pump. ;;;;;;;;;;;Ron

I have a Square 850 also. I think you are asking about the Center piece [between the head unit & lower sheet metal]. ALL I have seen, that piece is Stamped steel [I also have a round 850 with the stamped steel, West Coast mfg.].

The knob below the face is to Reset the clock mech.
