Rex:

Phenomenonal collection of 'Ethyl' globes! You have some manufactures/brands that I have never heard of. I'm sure glad that ethyl is the theme for the month as I really like the ethyl logo.

Could you (or someone else on-line here) please give a short description of the globes in your collection. You know; usage dates, manufactures, locations used in the U.S./Canada, etc. I'm especially interested in the 'Red Pepper' globe. I've never seen that one before. I'm sure I could do a kewl southwestern themed pump with that globe as a starting point.

Thanks to everyone for posting their treasures!

Jim

Fleet Wing gasoline was sold by Spears and Riddle. They were bought out by Sohio.

The Atlantic Ethyl globe was used from '27-'36.

Flashlike Ethyl is from Humble Oil and dates from '29-'32.

M&M Super Ethyl is from an Illinois independant. It's from the 1950's.

VS Ethyl is believed to be from a Tennesee independant. Its from the 50's.

Wadhams Ethyl was from '26-'32. Wadhams was bought by Vaccum Oil (Mobilgas).

Richfield Ethyl dates from 1950-'56.

Red Pepper Ethyl was from Ashland Oil and dates from the mid-1930's to 1946.

Ashland Flying Octanes Ethyl is from the '46-'60 era.
