Picked this nice old Gulf sign and band up today. What's the approx. age? Haven't decided to keep yet or not. Mike

Why does my band have 2 more mounting brackets at the bottom identical to the ones up top? What could have possibly hung below this sign?
Thanks, Mike

HERE'S WHAT I THINK COULD HAVE BEEN THE APPLICATION IN SOME CASES: OR PERHAPS IN A SINGLE TOP ARM APPLICATION THIS STYLE BOTTOM MAY HAVE BEEN USED TO ATTACH A CHAIN TO KEEP THE SIGN FROM SWAYING ON WINDY DAYS! ~DOC

Hey there. Saw this post awhile back and thought I'd share my Gulf Dealer sign. I believe I paid $200. I bought it about a year ago. Disassembled (sp?) it, sandblasted the ring, primed it, and painted it dark blue. Cleaned the sign, and cleared one side since the gloss was gone, and it hangs outside. I used all stainless bolts to reassemble. Also I used screen door gasket around the sign between the sign and ring. Looks nice hangin there. Luckily my father in law has a fork lift. That was key in mounting it.
Always looking for Ithaca Gun and Lucky Sam soda items!!!

Nice Job! Always a treat to see a nice Gulf sign back up for everyone to admire! I'm going to hang mine back out on a pole and put it up at the shop. I'm hunting for a pole now.
