This calendar is from 1938. A couple different Dixie pencils, there are a number of other variations, but I do not have photos of them so please post yours! POSTING DIXIE ITEMS FOR WES HOLLIDAY.... --------------------------------------------------------- Hello Doc Have a few items similar to AARONS that I would like to post. Several of the dealers were very into local picture calendars, there is a lot of variety. I only have photos of a few. There were a few standard pens used by the dealers, most notably the floater style, otherwise most dealers had their own printed locally, there are over twenty different graphic designs of Dixie pens in this collection. If anyone is interested in trading, I have several doubles. This is the only plate topper that I have found. Aaron keep up the good work! Did you find any Dixie in Peotone ? Wes Holliday

Great Dixie stuff, guys! Butch, I have always liked that keyhole sign. Roger, have patience, next week will be Dixie globe week. There has been a ton of stuff posted that I have never seen before, like the liscense plate attachments and the Dixie lens. I am not 100% convinced that this is a Dixie Distributor's lens because I have never seen any Dixie advertising using exclusively green and white and I have never seen a 16.5" Dixie globe, although the letter font in the word "Dixie" seems to be a close match which leads me to believe that it very well could be the same company. Regardless of whether its the same company or not this is a new one for the books. Thanks for sharing it with us! Here are a few more Dixie advertising pieces. The top two are from Lomira Oil Co., just like one of Wes's posted above. [This message has been edited by olddutchgas (edited 03-08-2006).]

These are all the different Dixie maps (a couple with front and back photos) that we have in our collection, but I'm sure there are other varities out there. I know very little about maps, so I cant be of much help when it comes to dates and such, if any of you can shed some light on this go right ahead! Thanks to everyone who has posted so far, keep them coming! [This message has been edited by olddutchgas (edited 03-09-2006).]

POSTING FOR WES HOLLIDAY: --------------------------------------------------------------- Hello Doc Have a scan that should show the chronological order of maps from the McNutt Oil Company. McNutt was the western distributor for Dixie, but they always tried to have their own idenity, thru their signs, and logos. The early map shows the Dixie Corporate logo, then the second shows the more modern looking Dixie oval logo found on most McNutt branded items, finally the ElPaso / Dixie sign graphic is after their buyout by El Paso Gas Co. El Paso still exists today, but only as a distributor of natural gas. Note the blender gas pump simulate to that used by Sunoco on the east coast in the 1960’s. If there is a maps style missing would someone please jump in and let us see what it looks like. Also put together the four designs of yellow maps, from Michigan, used before Dixie went to the common red maps. Someone please let me know if these are in the correct order, none of them have a date (at least none that I could find). Thanks ! Wes Holliday
