POSTING FOR WES HOLLIDAY THESE DIXIE ROAD MAP IMAGES...
--------------------------------------------------------------

Hello Doc
   Hope you don’t mind helping again, I just found two neat little pocket size Dixie maps. Both are about 2” wide, and 6” tall.
Also have a colorful 1933 Century of Progress map of Chicago Exposition, guess that’s like a worlds fair, lots of detail in these old maps.
Thanks again !
Wes Holliday

Here's a Dixie 390 pump plate from McNutt Oil & Gas in El Paso, Texas. McNutt was a large jobber for Dixie Distributors.

Here is another of the McNutt Dixie pump signs. It would seem logical that a Diesel #1 could exist although I have not seen one.

Great signs guys! We dont have any McNutt signs in our collection, but do have this large large (4'x7') Dixie sign in our collection. I dont know anything about the Randolph Oil Co. and even though this sign has a few cosmetic problems, its still pretty cool. This sign came from Seth's Auction (the photo was taken on auction day, snow and all) a few weeks ago and was delivered to us by a friend in Peotone. Let's see some more signs!

This is probably my favorite Dixie sign of all time, a large double sided neon sign. This was in a friends collection many years ago and it has since been sold.

This is about a 5' porcelain oval sign with bracket and was for sale at the It's A Gas show in Missouri a year ago.

This sign I believe is a self framed single sided painted metal sign, but I could be mistaken and was available at Iowa Gas a couple years ago.

This is an outstanding reverse painted glass sign changed hands quickly and quietly at the It's A Gas show several years ago. Notice the in the graphics the word "Super" is in red letters, where as the cans I have seen have all had blue letters. Could there be another can discovery waiting to be found?

POSTING ONCE AGAIN FOR WES HOLLIDAY....
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Hello Doc
  Have some signs to post on the Dixie items;
The reverse painted glass sign that I have is in an old metal case, will
show several views of the sign. The case looks original.
  I have one oval sign that says DIXIE but I'm not sure it is the Michigan
based company, or another, so you be the judge on that! The last sign is an
old porcelain, on white background, and is probably my oldest Dixie sign.
Thank you !
Wes Holliday

Awesome Dixie stuff, Wes! Thanks for sharing your collection, I'm looking forward to seeing more of it. If any one else has any Dixie signage we havent seen yet, please post pictures of it! Now, lets start the globes...

This one piece etched globe was Dixie's first globe that they used from the 1926-1928. There was also a Dixie High-Test one piece etched globe used in this era, but I have never seen one in person. The High-Test is identical other than the word "High-Test" replaces "Gasoline".

Here are a few different Dixie 15" globes. They were used in the late 20s and early 30s. The Hi-Powr is the only one known and is flat, reverse painted glass. There is also another Power to Pass on metal unlike any other Dixie globes, but I dont have a photo to post at this time.

Alright Roger, I'll bite. Here are some keyholes for you. There are 8 known variations of Dixie keyhole globes and total there are about 35 globes in collections that I know about. Obviously, these globes are quite uncommon and very popular with collectors, and part of the reason that keyhole globes are uncommon is because they were relatively short lived, being used from 1928 through 1931. These globes were made by Cinncinnati Advertising just like most of the other globes out there.

Take notice that the Power to Pass globe has black letters where as the Liberty and Knock Out have blue letters.

Not shown is the Dixie Blue Streak keyhole, I know of only one of this variation. A photo of it can be found in Scott Anderson's "Check the Oil" book in the black and white photo section.

This is a group shot of the seven previously posted keyholes all together. For those of you who are wondering, keyhole globes are molded milkglass (just like a normal glass body) and the colored ones are then painted and fired. The white ones are just the milkglass with fired letters. The colored variations the bodies were painted and the letters were not. The lenses are a unique oval size and are held on by two small screws just like most 13.5" convential glass bodied globes.
