This is one of the places we stopped on our annual trip at spring break. This antique store is loacted at what we call 4 corners out west. Kramer junction also. At the 395 & 58 junction near Boron CA. What makes this place interesting is the owner is also a collector. Some of the stuff in the store was NFS. I did pick up a couple things. He was kind enough to give us a grand tour of some other buildings. He collects a little of everything. So here are some pics. Ted

Below is one of the hangers. His dad had stations in the area at one time.

These shell signs came from his dad's station.

The Barstow sign came from the nearby Edwards air force base.

I thought this was kind of different. It was used at an airstrip to haul lubricants and oil.

Another hanger.

A Texaco on a great pole hanger.

Next edtion I will show the inside of the store. Ted

Inside the store were 2 pumps from his dad's station.

A really nice Signal bottle holder which couldn't get him to sell.

A Chevrolet already for neon.

A couple CA. road signs.

A couple old signs and a license plate.

A couple CA. road signs rough but rare.

Another hard one to find that took some bullets.

Here are a couple thing I bought there. Ted
A one quart all metal Bodar from Los Angeles. I had never seen this can before.

A porcelain just liked the Ace of Spades.

If you are ever around this area it is certainly worth stopping by and say Hi. Antiques also for sale.

Great pictures Ted. I have the Bodar qt but it is in about the same condition as that one. Thanks for sharing the pics with us and that is an excellent Signal oil bottle rack. Looks like a fun time.

Hey Ted......regarding that photo with the trailer used to haul lubricants and oil
....here's a picture of a tin toy I've had for years........

It looks like the same type of trailer. I've always thought the toy was kinda weird
looking and wondered what it was suppose to represent. Toys of that era generally were
based on "real" objects, but this one I've never been able to figure out
.....until now!! You should buy that trailer and retore it like the one pictured
here. Can't be many others out there like it!!!

Rob,

I stopped by there last September, and he said he had plans to restore everything,
that none of the pumps, or the planes for that matter, were for sale.

If it is petro and I didn't buy it it was not for sale. He has plans to restore all the pumps and that little lube cart as well. I tried to buy the Signal bottle carrier but those are his collection. Thanks for the comments guys. Ted

Cool stuff. And I thought the only stop in Boron was the Prison. Not that I ever spent time there....

Actually, just west of that intersection, is the site of the YB-49 flying wing crash, that Edwards AFB is named for.

Troach,
Great post, brings back a lot of memories, I think I pumped gas out of a few of those pumps.
Back when I was a very young pup I spent several weeks (twice) at Kramer Junction while working on a construction project across the desert. A delightful place then, 3 gas stations, a bar next to the substation, Howards Four Corners Cafe and the motel behind the cafe.
