October POTM is going to be the G & B 66 curb or service station blind pump. I figured we needed a change from all the electric pumps I have been doing and I just finished this pump. The round version of the 66 was made in 1922, and the square version was made in 1923. The round 66 are 21" X 30" X 89" tall without the globe. I don't have a weight on this pump but it is heavy, and you cannot strip any thing out of it to make it lighter. This pump has several measuring devises. The round gallon dial advances only when you reach the next gallon. There is a shaft in the center of the pump and as you crank the gas this shaft moves upward. On one side of the pump as the shaft moves upward it registers the gallons up to 5 gallons. On the other side of the pump there are pull stops at 1/2, 1, 2, 3, and 4. So if you wanted 2 gallons of gas you would pull this stop and the inside shaft would stop when it reached 2 gallons.

Here is the breakdown on the round 66.

The base is 19 1/2" round and 1 3/4" tall.

The frame is 75 1/2" tall.

These braces attach to the center of the frame and hold the top of the lower side panels to the pump. These two pieces are the same size but have different cutouts.

These are the bottom panels. The panels are curved and are 31" wide following the curve and 38 1/2" tall. They are identical and can be interchanged.

This is the top for the lower panels. The picture also shows how the braces attach to the frame and lower panel.

This is the light assy. There was conduit that ran from the assy. all the way through the pump. I removed this conduit and put a light switch on. It is attached to the center bracket of the frame. The outside light that is for the side gallon strip must be installed last.

These are the top panels. One has a door on it. They are curved and measure 18 1/2" following the curve and 27 1/2" tall.

The gas delivery pipe must be installed next. This pump used a banana nozzle with a hook.

These are the lower door panels. The first one has the lower molding to complete the base molding. It is curved and measures 15" along the curve and 14 1/2" tall. The lower picture shows the other door and measures 15" along the curve and 13 1/2" tall.

This picture shows the middle access doors. They measure 19" along the curve and 7" tall. Both doors are the same. The lock is pictured on the left of the doors, but is missing the key portion. This key portion fits into a 1" hole. I have not been able to find anything close, so I used a 3/4" cam lock with a 1 1/8" trim piece.

This is the finished pump. I used PPG DCC 9000 Black, and DCC 4679 Red.

Now lets see some more pumps. We need to generate some more pictures on this thread so lets see any G & B pre-visible pump you might have. I will be glad to post any pictures you might have, just send them to me. Richard

This is a before picture of a square 66, the pump was really beyond repair. It has all new panel work.

Here is my G&B T-8...all original crank handle, veeder root, stops, lock, lock cover, key, all the iron and the nozzle. It has been repainted and I know the hose and decal are new. I will try to add additional pics if imageshack will let me.
