Already relisted with no reserve. I have %100 positive feedback but said I didn't want to accept Paypal on this and they pulled the listing. I apologize to any Oldgas members that bid on the pump. Its official EBAY is off me Christmas card list!!! Again its relisted with any payment accepted and no reserve. Thanks. Jay

Live and learn with EBAY. I didnt mind the insertion fee, the reserve fee, the one extra photo fee, the percentage of final sale fee, the relisting fee once they unlisted the item and the internet surcharge fee but they then force me to use thier own Paypal company, as a acceptable payment, which will take another percentage fee...... one of you guys must be a IT genius and can set up a Oldgas.com auction site with just a "thanks for enjoying the gas pump collecting fee" Jay

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but ebay isn't forcing sellers to accept paypal!! I am on ebay right now and find a number of auctions that don't accept paypal, check out auction #120261396904 for a visible. If the seller wants credit card payments then they do need to accept paypal. To me, no different than the auction I went to this last weekend where we had to prove by cashier check or credit card limit(s) that we could afford to purchase items.(we couldn't afford anything, lol) We needed to do this before they would give us a bidders number.

Bob, From the ebay web sight: http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/payment-method-accepted.html Note: To keep eBay a safe place for both buyers and sellers, sellers who register after January 17, 2007 are required to offer either PayPal or a merchant account credit card as an accepted payment method for their items. Also, when I list an item with an account started about 5 years ago but that has limited feedback (55), I get this message: Because of your limited transaction history on eBay, you must offer PayPal or a merchant credit card as a payment method for this listing. PayPal is the safer, easier way to receive payments on eBayWhen I sell with an account that has over 800 feedback I'm not required to accept paypal. Hope all this helps.

Lurker: you right on with why i got the EBAY paypal boot. Been a member for over 6 years but only 15 transactions, regardless if i have 100% positive feedback. Cant change the price of a gallon of gas and cant change corporate greed. It is/was frustrating when i was just trying to list a gas pump and make for a easier transaction to both buyer and seller. then to top it off i didnt properly edit the relist so i am sure they will boot me again, but thats just life, i will keep trying until i get it right!!. EBay makes ALOT of money from paypal, so I'm sure it won't be long before everybody is required accept it.
Not only that, but now they're holding your money to see if the buyer complains, and if they do then they return the money to them. Referred to as a chargeback. The buyer is "supposed" to return the product (on your dime of course) but it's becoming quite a scam for an empty box to show up on the porch. You lose your widget & your money.
If they don't complain, then you get your funds after 21 days. Imagine all the interest eBay is getting on all this money. Of course now you, the seller, can't even leave them a negative feedback anymore if there is a problem.

Thanks for the heads up. I noticed that it reads " Either Paypal or a merchants credit card". At least the way I read that statement, ebay still gives one an option. I have sold only a few items and it has been awhile, so I most likely am wrong.
