It was a "poor" weekend of garage sales for the poor man. Of course I only spent $1.25 for my "big" finds. Must have been everyone getting ready for trick or treat. Here's a bonus photo of my "Ghostly Gas Station" and some guy named "Clyde" that showed up for our Halloween party. Invited 200 of our closest friends and family for a Halloween Hoedown in our game room and gas station. "You can trust your car to the man who wears the star, the big bright Texaco star." Hey what else would I dress up in? Happy Halloween!

Jeff, Glad you and Carol made it home with your load safe and secure. I had fun "on the hunt" Sat, and it was great to meet my first Old Gassers. Fyi the 39 we looked for and found the gut pile from was sold withing the past week..and I'm still waiting for the call back on the Erie. (Which again, I might snag for myself) Good luck to all!

Once upon a time there was a Wayne 866. It was purchased in place, and when the guy (not me, not Jeff) un-bolted it and leaned it over it was frozen down and the base (complete but 2 pcs)separated from the frame. The man said bad words. It sat alone in a building for many years until it was rescued one rainy Saturday by two gallant men and one fair lady. Now it and all involved will live happily ever after as soon as their backs are right again. The End.

A few more... Most Simoniz cans are pretty common, but I don't see many that still have the tear-off top with these graphics. The Red Devil is an auto paint and I'm a sucker for a picture of a guy painting his tires with a brush. ------------------ Jim "Oldgas" PottsYour host and moderator[This message has been edited by Oldgas (edited 11-04-2004).]

Here are a few things I picked up at Peotone last week. I had talked to a friend about this globe at Columbus. I had forgotten all about it. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw it. My Mom is from Kentucky so I thought it would be nice to have this Standard of Kentucky globe. I also picked up this NOS Sinclair Insecticide can with the original box. I got some other stuff at Peotone that isn't pictured. Tom Buckles brought some station blueprints that I had to have. My good friend Bud Ellinghausen had several Sinclair pieces for me.
Wanted: Gas pump globes:Sinclair & affiliates, IL companies. Ripple bodies. Anything Sinclair, Stoll, Pierce, 4 Bros. http://www.lastgas15.com/
