Hey Guys & Gals,
It's time to share the petro relics that we've stumbled across in our recent travels, and check out what other people have found as well.
If you would like to contribute to this feature, simply post the pictures here or email them directly to me and I will post them for you. Be sure to include a story or description with your subissions.
If it's too close to the next installment, please note that I may hold your contribution for posting when the new FATW comes up on the 5th day of each month. Send 'em in!!
Happy trails!

This old Sweney Gasoline station has been a dry cleaning business sinc the mid 1960s Here's yet another Sweney location in Peoria: I'm not sure what to think about the business occupying this neat old corner station: [This message has been edited by thermactor (edited 04-06-2007).]

Check out this great old Standard station with built-in lettering... Here's a tiny little station in an industrial area. It's actually built on stilts, overhanging the edge of a large terrace wall. Here's an old porcelain Shell station, now in disrepair... Note the air pole...

Here's a rare one... A station that is ONLY full-service. Pretty cool! Pretty neat, rather large downtown corner station: (This could have been a Firestone or similar showroom-type station, or possibly a car dealer. It has two garage bays) Here's something unusual. A Uniroyal "Tire Girl," a cousin to the Paul Bunyans also seen along the roadways of the past. Not many of these gals left... Learn more at agilitynut.com. That's all I've got this month - anybody seen anything photo-worthy lately? Wes

Here is a fellow I met while I was in the KC area. He has some really nice stuff & I loved the stories he told me about some of it. The Conoco still has the original base. He said he walked by this sign as a kid many times. More signs outside. Nice setup between the garage doors.

the two little white stations that gasnoildude put on here are from Carthage, Illinois. That is about 20 mins. from me. There used to be a Wayne 80 sitting out front of the one with the hair salon in it. Two Super Shell Ethyl globes came out of the other station, still in the box. Did you go to the auction? It was a major bust for me.

Gulf pulled their stations out of Indiana a long time ago....sort of....This dealer has tried to keep his old image. With one small change to his sign. Chuck
