Dick got us started off with an awesome globe!
Clipper Oil Company was based in Seattle. Mobil bought Clipper in the 40's and kept it as a secondary brand. This globe dates from the 1940's.

The Mobilgas and Mobilgas Ethyl globes with the familiar pegasus were used from the mid-1930's until 1962. They are from Socony-Vacuum. These globes can be found with black or blue lettering. There are variations in the size of the lettering too. These two are on metal bodies. Regular glass bodies, gill, ballcrank, and capco bodies were used too.

Also pictured is a blunt nose White Eagle globe that would date from 24-32.

The Socony Special has the lettering fired on the outside of the lens. Dick reports that the other side of a globe that used this lens would possibly have been the Socony shield. The Socony Special lens dates from the 1922-26 period.

Thanks for posting these great globes Dick.

Anyone have some of the glass or plastic body versions of the Mobilgas globes they can post? How about an oval Clipper globe?
Bob

More great globes Dick!

The White Eagle pictured is the "pointed nose" or "crow" version. It was used from the from the late 1920's until 1937.
White Eagle was bought out by SOCONY in 1930. The White Eagle brand survived until the late 30's.

The Metro globe dates from the 1935-40 era. Metro was bought by Socovy-Vacuum in 1934. The Metro name lived on as a motor grade (sub-regular) at Mobilgas stations until after the war.

Thanks for sharing these globes.
Bob

Here are three that haven't been posted yet. The Mobilgas is from Vacuum Oil Co and is 16 1/2 inch metal. The two others are your typical 13 1/2 capco plastic.

Dwaine's Mobilgas Special globe is from Socony-Vacuum. It dates from '36-'62.

Don's oval Clipper globe dates from the 1940's. There are only a few oval globes with great graphics and this is one of them.

Gary's Mobilgas globe is from the early 30's.
The Mobilfuel Diesel was used from the 50's through '62. It's a pretty rare globe.
The Mobilgas Special is from the '55-'62 era.

Thanks for posting these wonderful globes!
