I just returned from Roy Reeds' Gas Bash. This I'm told, is the original gas bash in the country and who can argue. As usual it was great to see so many of our old and new friends. There were some nice pieces but no real rare pieces for sale unless they were sold "out of the trunk" before the show. I ended up with an early Hancock strip sign which will go over one of my garages. I think the farthest away award goes to Chuck Spillar who drove from Colorado Springs, leaving Thursday morning at 7:30 and arriving at the bash Friday morning at 6:30 after spending the night in Las Vegas. He packed up his goodies, all purchased prior to the show and delivered to him by yours truly, at 9am this morning and headed home hoping to be there tonight at about 12:00. Not my idea of fun. Anyway...a great time and lot's of things changing hands Ray

Hey Ray. Sounds like a good time for sure. Did you or anyone else get any pictures? Ken.

Tunrout was down,& gas prices UP [$3.299] a bit breezie on Friday [Phil had a globe blow over & broke a SKYCHIEF lens for glass body- JJ ?]. There was a chance of drizzle for Sat. & threathened to rain at any time [didn't]. Was good to see old friends and make some new ones. Put faces with a few OLDGASSERS too.
Gaspump Ronnie had a Getto theme WAYNE 70. Looked like a stuccoed building with a scene of looking thru the window of a massage parlor in the adv. windows. DB

Can anyone tell me who the guy was that was set up against the wall just to the right of the gas station (just out of the picture)? I need to talk to him about a sign and I can't remember his name or how to get ahold of him.
Thanks Dave

Dave, I think the guy you are asking about is Darryl. He was set up along the block wall to the right of Roy's station. Darryl's Old Advertising Signs, (760) 949-2820. I picked up one of his cards, number only no address.
