What a great story Roger. I remember when you found the signs and I never tire of hearing the story. Thanks for sharing it.

I know there has to be more Lion items out there. Any Left Coast guys have anything? Here is a very early one piece etched globe used from 1924-1930. Probably the first globe Lion used. Not very graffic, but very uncommon.

One thing I would like to add to this post is that Lion Oil is still involved in unbranded marketing of gasoline. Right here in Memphis down on the river is a bulk plant where Lion oil company buys gas and resales to private marketers. I am good friends with the salesman who has been with lion over 30 years and he told me Lion will probably never get back into retail but will continue wholesale operations as it is very profitable. He has given me many leads and helps with my hobby as much as possible. I will try later to get some photos up of some of my smalls. I have quit a bit more Lion stuff, the photos before were just some.

I'm a little late on this post, but I haven't had time to get on the computer in days. I just want to thank everyone that participated in and enjoyed reading the Lion Oil posts. I knew it wouldn't have hundreds of participantsb but I do hope it provided some educational information for many. Thank you again guys and let's support and enjoy the current COTM hosted by Big Cheese...Hi- Speed.
