This North Star globe is from Oskey Brothers Petroleum. It would have been used from the mid-sixties through 1980. This company was not connected with North Star Limited from Canada.

Here are two great globes from the Hop collection.

These lenses are from the 60's and should be on capco bodies, but they sure look great on the ripples.

HELP!!!!!
I need some globe pictures.
Do any of you have pictures of globes from the following companies:
Ashland
Pepper
Tri-State from WV
National Refining (White Rose)
White Rose (southern franchises)
White Rose (Licensed by Mid West Refining)
White Rose Canadian Oil Co.
Aetna
Frontier Refining from Buffalo,NY
Valvoline Oil Co.
Freedom Oil
Payless
Dance
SuperAmerica
North Star (Oskey Brothers, not the Canadian company).
Red Head
Southern Oil (Rotary, Rotanline,etc)
Hood Oil
Tresler Oil
Cincinatti Oil Works
Union Oil Company of Cincinatti,OH

Indepedent Quality Service

If you have pictures of any globes from these companies how about emailing them to me? We've had a pretty good response but there are sooooo many more globes from our featured companies.
If you're worried about security I can post your pictures and not say who owns them.
Thanks to all those who have shared their globes with us.
Bob

Here are two more Tresler globes from Rex Benson's collection.
The Silver Comet is from the 1955-64 era.
The Comet Diesel dates from '46-'55 and is the only known example on a glass body.

Thanks Rex!

Does anyone have pictures of an Ashland or Aetna A Plus globe they can email me? How about a Frontier Double Refined or a Valvoline globe? We haven't seen any Freedom or IQS globes yet. Anyone have any pictures of those?

I'll be happy to post your pictures.

Here's something you don't see every day. The globe on the left is hand painted. It's either a prototype, or an attendant had way too much free time. Either way, its a cool globe!

The Ashland Go-Mix dates from 60's.

We've had a pretty good response so far this month. I want to thank all those that submit pictures of their globes.
I've got a few more pictures to post, but we've only shown a small portion of the globes used by Ashland and it many affiliates.
Does anyone have a Frontier Double Refined globe, or a Valvoline globe they can send me a picture of? How about and IQS or Freedom globe? We haven't seen any Rotary (Southern Oil) globes, or National White Rose or Royal globes.
Thanks again to all that support Globe Of The Month. Keep those globe pictures coming in!

Here are three more from Rex.
The Aetna A Plus was used in 1960-61 and the two Aetna globes were from the 50's.

The reason we do these features is so everyone has a chance to learn more about our hobby. I think any serious collector tries to learn as much as possible about the items they collect.
I've gotten some emails from people that didn't have any idea that Ashland had bought out so many companies. Many people equate Ashland with the Flying Octanes globes only.

We've seen some pretty cool stuff this month. How about Aaron's and Lonnie's Minamax globe? That was one I'd never seen before. How about the one off hand painted Ashland Go-Mix that Jeff submitted. You won't find those globes in any collector guide. Anyone that collects a single brand can really appreciate Rex's collection.

I want to thank all those that support GOTM by submitting pictures of their globes. I also want to thank those that don't have any globes to post, but send emails of support.

If anyone has any globes from the featured companies that we haven't seen yet, email them to me and I'll get them posted.
Bob
