I am a Firefighter and have always wondered where the Texaco Fire Chief gasoline title came from. Obviously the Dalmatian dog came along with the Fire Chief !

I worked at a Sinclair station back in the 50's, so I am an "old" gas station guy. Way before automatic shutoff nozzles !
