eBay probably worked out some sort of deal with the American Philatelic Society that benefits both parties. We all know they wouldn't do something that will not benefit eBay in some way, as this warning might prohibit people who don't know exactly what they are selling to say screw it and not list stamps anymore, which in turn is a loss of revenue.

For whatever reason, at least it is some kind of step in the right direction.

eBay probably has automatic responses to people that post items they have been sued for. Government stamps, no doubt...

I tried to post some old ads for steam ships, but the word "cruise" was a no no. Anything that uses that word bounces.

The fact that eBay has stepped up to the plate on fake stamps is a good thing for many reasons. eBay is admitting they are a conduit for this type of activity. In todays world, their is no more flexibility with the law. Zero tolerance on everything including traffic tickets, bullying, drunk driving, ect. I hope to see them publicly discourage and ask sellers if they are selling fraudulent items of eveey kind. Now that eBay has crossed over the line on to our side, i dont think they have a choice but to move forward on this.

if you list a toy you get a screen that warns of listing recalled toys, its been like that for awhile, does not stop you from listing fraudulent stamps, just shows a screen to warn you, bad people will skip right over that step.

You also get a warning screen when you list anything with the word "Indian" in it also. Something to do with Native American Artifacts, I got this warning screen when listing some Indian motorcycle stuff on eBay awhile back.
