These type of cans are considered OK to paint and IMO is worth doing. They just look so much better done in paint but I think the advice to stay with the original color scheme is good advise. These were used mainly on trucks and are heavy in both weight and the steel used to make them making them something that was meant to be a working piece and less of an advertising piece. Either way you go, it's a nice piece.
