I have 3 of them. 2 for 15 inch globes, and 1 for a white eagle. However, I have the rectangular ones (GD 104), not the ornate. I wasn't
really worried about the weight from the metal bodies, but I was about the eagle. I believe the screws line up vertically, which helps
with the support. They key is to have the electrical box mounted solidly to blocking or the stud I used a metal box as well. I set
mine up during a re-model, so it was no problem. Mine ended up very solid and secure. I powder-coated mine, and they look really good,
I get lots of compliments. I'd post a picture, but they're at my other house.
