Getting ready to list this 20's vintage tireflator(air meter) on ebay and thought I'd offer it to oldgas people first. This has been completely disassembled, with everything repainted, repaired, or replaced. Metal was sandblasted, epoxy primed, and painted with quality automotive urethane. Shutoff valve rebuilt with new leather seals. Plumbing rebuilt with new copper and brass fittings where neceessary. Most parts are original including the data plate. The face plate and hand crank assembly are nice reproductions from Ron Scobie. Although it looks good, I believe the indicator needle is from a slightly newer model air meter. The air hose is 25 feet long, made by Goodyear rubber, and has a polished brass air chuck.
Valued at $3500 in Jack Sim's Air Meters price guide in 2008. I'm asking $4200 plus shipping.
I have many pictures of before, during, and after restoration if you are interested.
Thanks for looking
Ted
