On the clock face Erie's, there is a very thick cast glass 'window glass'.

All computing pumps have a porcelain faceplate with a stamped tin pan that goes behind it. The glass is captured between the pan and the face.

The only bits of glass you can see is the square openings for the price, gallons and the sale numbers.

And a very little known fact: there is a tiny ball bearing installed on top of the vertical shaft inside the spinner from the factory.
