I am curious to know if anyone knows what colors AMERICAN GAS had on a 1930 Erie clock face pump. While sandblasting the pump, I found on the first layer
butterscotch yellow side panels, dark red corners, a dark red top and solid dark red bottom up 12". The gas pump collectors guide lists the proper colors to be butterscotch yellow and blue. The earliest front decal was round and had AMERICAN across the top and GAS across the bottom with a circle in the center. Is the book wrong? Thanks, DeWitt.
