Ron, just use a good wax. This will take off the crud and protect the finish. The "just needs a good cleaning" line is just that. If the can was perfect but dirty you can bet that the seller would have it spotless. It sells for more that way. Almost always dirt covers up a host of sins so bid accordingly.
