Hi, Socony Vacuum changed the serif "a" to a round "a" around 1947.

: Hey guys,

: I've been looking around and not finding much for low-priced original 12" Mobilgas signs. So, I'm going out of bounds to actually get a repro Mobilgas sheild, but I haven't found them lately. Any leads to some?

: Also, as I was perusing through Mobil pictures, I noticed a few stations with certain lettering changes of the "A" in Mobilgas. Many show up a the seriff a that we see with the times new roman font. But some station signs have the a without a tail on top -- hard to describe on a computer with only times roman font, but you know the gradeschool lettering sheet a's. Was there a span of time when this changed? It's just one of those things I have to know.

: So if anyone could help on either question, I'd be appreciative. Thanks guys,
: Chris
