Dan,
According to The Journal Of Petroleum Marketing, June, 1998 issue, there are 187,097
retail location selling motor fuel in the U.S. These locations sell 344,765.9 gallons of gasoline and 85081.8 gallons of low sulfur diesel fuel per day.
I don't have any world wide figures at this time.
