Randy, Indian Oil was an independent company that was bought out by Texaco in the early 30's. They introduced Havoline oil and were primarily in the midwest. In the 20's oil was sold in quart bottles and Lubsters were used at the gas station to fill these bottles. The possibility always existed that the station owner would substitute a cheaper grade of oil than what the customer had paid for and this brought about the use of sealed cans in the 30's. Lubsters are common collectibles and are typically worth around $150 in good unrestored condition. Lubsters marked with an oil company name cast into the pump or cover are worth more and often sell for $250 to $400 depending on the brand. If your lubster has an Indian porcelain sign then the value goes up into the $500 to $1000 range depending on the condition of the sign. There are many Texaco collectors that desire Indian items. Hope this helps. Steve
