Hi Bill; just a few answers for you.
An old pump mechanic told me that pump handles were black so they didn't show greasy fingerprints.
I've had great luck cleaning glass cylinders with diluted muratic acid.Brush it on and wipe off.Be sure to wear gloves , goggles and a spray mask to avoid splashes and fumes.
In canada , white rose gasoline didn't add tetra ethyl lead until 1930, so its possible your pump never had contain lead signs.
I believe most (Early) visible pumps came with the fabric covered hose. Keep in mind some of these companies produced thes pumps well into the 40's or longer.
Check the rods with a magnet to see if they are brass.
Once I have decided on a paint scheme I usually try to have the paint tinted to the colour in the decal.Maybe not exact, but it does look better than a mismatched decal.
Email for more assistance if I can help

: I'm in the process of restoring a Wayne 615 visible gas pump (I've never restored a gas pump before). I've taken it apart and I'm ready to take it to the sand blaster. I need a glass globe and logo decal (before I choose the paint colors). I like the "Flying A" logo, is there a better suggestion (I'm willing to buy a reproduction.)? Whatever globe I use, I need to see what color scheme to paint the pump. I need suggestions on where I can get a catalog, etc. to show vintage pumps?
:
: Some more questions:
:
: I have the original glass cylinder, but it's yellowed. How do I get this cleaned up and looking new?
: What is the best way to clean the gallon indicators and the rods that support them? Are the rods brass?
: What color should I paint the inside pipes and pump mechanism?
: What color should I paint the rods that protect the glass cylinder?
: What color should I paint the pipes inside the glass cylinder?
: What color should I paint the pump handle?
: I need a hose, do I want a white cloth one or a black rubber hose?
: Is the "Contains Lead..." warning label original to the pumps of the 1920s, or were they added later? If I need one, is it a decal or a metal plate? It doesn't look like my pump ever had one (if it was a riveted-on plate).
:
: That's all of the questions I can think of for now (as if that's not enough already) . Thanks in advance for your help.
