: Can anyone tell me the year made and/or used of a Gilbarco gas

: a globe. Any info on this pump would be appreciated.

Your pump is a version of the so called "panoramic" pumps which began to be produced in the mid/late 50's. I believe the GB 1006 started production in about 1958 or so. You are correct in that the round piece (called a 'knockout') is to be removed if you want to place a globe on top.
I have one which I have removed all of the computer and the mounting brackets and have installed a television set inside the frame so the screen is visible trouugh the lexan cover. They are good for aquariums or stereo racks, but they are not popular with collectors, or at least in central Texas, but consequently are cheap. Best luck!
