: : : : Anyone out there wver heard of a oil company by the
: : : : name of Powerine? If so, how about a short history
: : : : or words of wisdom...
: : : : thanks in advance!
: : : : Have a POWERLUBE Motor Oil sign from Denver around 1940
: : : from powerline gasoline, Standard did them in around 1946!

: : : Bob

: : Powerine Oil Company, formerly Rothchild Oil Company, Began
: : in the oil fields of Santa Fe Springs, Ca. around 1935.
: : Powerine operated with a capacity of just under 50,000
: : barrels per day until 1984, when Harry Rothchild decalared
: : bancruptcy and closed the refinery. In October 1986,
: : Oscar Smidt,an Austrian investor bought Powerine out
: : of Bankruptcy and continued to operate until June of 1996.
: : The refinery has recently been purchased by Cenco Petroleum, Inc.
: : and rumors tie Pat Robertson, the evangelist, to the refinery.

Thats right about Powerine except for the Castle energy, Kenyan, and Haddap ownership in between. I am also an ex employee. Trying to stay in touch
There seems to be another Powerine in Colorado at one time. And maybe some confusion with a Powerline Co. Powerine in CA is now CENCO Oil.
