Hello, my name outside of here is Tony Jaco. My e-bay name is xjarhead1966. I have been into the gas stuff for about three years now. I've always been into old cars and trucks, though. My first pump/sign items were given to me by a guy at work who's dad owned a Gulf distributorship. I just turned 40 about 5 days ago. I have a 8 yr. old son, and a 3 yr. old daughter. My wife is very understanding, until I drive in with 7 trucks/16' trailers loaded down with pumps and signs, thus the name "Sanford and son". This web site is a lot of help and reading the posts daily is very addictive. tony IP: Logged |

Hi folks.....my name's Richard Weir and I live in Hillsboro, Ohio with Shari, my lovely wife of almost 39 years. I'm 59 and retired from Mobil Oil back in 2001. As my username kinda implies, I collect Mobil and related companies.....plus a few items from Ashland Oil, where I worked prior to Mobil. I'm a buckeye by birth and current residence, but spent the 28 years prior to 2001 living and working Texas. I've been collecting for 20+ years and have mostly signs and cans......but the globe count is slowly rising (18 currently). We have one son who's married and lives in Texas.....and they're expecting our first grandbaby in August!! To borrow a lyric from Joe Walsh..."life's been good to me so far". Richard IP: Logged |

Hello everybody, I'm Tom Buckles,39 years old. t3jwb on Ebay. My real job is the vehicle maintenance supervisor for United States Postal Service in Indianapolis, been there 28 years. I have been married to my wonderful wife for 12 years. She had two children when we married and I helped raise them like they were my own. They are both grown and doing fine in life. My wife is a collector herself only it's not petro stuff. I have been in this hobby for about 15 years now. I collect all things Sinclair gas and oil related. I guess the ultimate find for me would be to somehow find that untouched Sinclair warehouse, WOW, am I dreaming or what! Love National A1's, A38's, and Wayne 60's. I have always been a car guy, mechanic and like to do fabrication and body work. I have a couple of cars in my showroom where I keep my Sinclair collection. I consider myself a collector because once an item goes into my showroom it's not for sale no matter what. Alot of you see that I seem to have alot of pump parts for sale. I do. I have about three hundred pumps and a 45' semi trailer full of parts, mostly common 40's 50's stuff. I travel to mostly the midwest gas shows selling pumps and parts. That is how I support my hobby or my addiction or whatever it is that makes me love this stuff. I want to take a second and say thanks to Jim for providing such a wonderful forum and to everybody else that makes this a successful site. IP: Logged |

My name is Chuck Spillar. I'm a 42 yr young Air Force officer assigned to Space Command in Colorado Springs. My beautiful wife Wendy and I have been married for 4 years. We were blessed this year when Santa delivered baby twins to our house on Christmas Eve...couldn't have asked for a better Christmas present. Although a distant second could have been a Clipper sign for me!! That brings us to 3 children, the oldest being 9 yrs. My wife is great about the hobby and tries to attend all the shows with me whenever possible. She only gets scared when I mention a sign with too many 0,000,000 after the first number. Luckily they are far and few between. Don't really have a favorite company since we collect a little everything but we do try to pick up something local from where ever we are stationed. Last place was Santa Barbara County so we had to find a Seaside sign. Now in Colorado we'll need to find some Frontier, Speedway or Powerlube signs. IP: Logged |

Hey Hemibird. Might be time to move on. I don't see why you would "need to find some Frontier, Speedway or Powerlube signs." That stuff is best left to us full time residents. It might be time to try to get on at Area-51 and start collecting slot machines. But seriously thanks for your service to our great country and that goes to all you other vets and active military guys who enjoy our hobby. Thanks! chris IP: Logged |
