The other night while cruising the Barnes And Nobles Book Store I came across the new Value Guide to Gas Station Memorabilia , its the second edition, by B.J.Summers and Wayne Priddy Its full of color photos with unrestored prices and Profesional restoration prices of Pumps , Globes , Signs , and about anything else you could think of . It seems to be a great book , Check it out

I bought the book today, pretty good book. The only thing I didn't like is it has some of Glenn Thompson's Repop pumps in it. Like the showcase Dayton 900 twin, and the Wayne showcase 800 twin. The book made it sound like these pumps were actually made and were rare and hard to find. There rare and hard to find, because they were never made by the pump manufacture.

I'm not putting down on glenn's work, they are beautiful pieces, just not sure they should be made out to be real pumps in a Value Guide book. There are some other of Glenn's pumps in the book.

Am I missing something here? What's the second edition? The book in the Old Gas photo appears to be the original printing. I've had this book a long time and it was printed in 1995. Are you talking about a new book or not? Thanks.

Paul , Yes its the second Edition , Although I did not know it was availible here on Old Gas, I thought Just the first edition was avalible. yes its the second edition pictured on the help page ,I know what you mean Brain, But the Pictures of Glens doubles are Fantastic looking and perserving them in a book I think is OK , but the author should have said they where a fantacy Piece. What was nice in this edition was the added features like Clocks , the Gas attendance uniforms and Hats,Thermometors, license plate toppers, Check it out By the way, If I had known I could of bought it here I would have saved 10.00

Hey Cheese!
Why you always got one finger up?
Does that mean $1.00 for choice of pumps?
I'll take 10!!!

Every time Cheese spots a UFO, he tries to get a picture of it, but his cameraman is always too interested in the pumps... What a shame...

Is the second edition a complete new book or is it the same old book with updated prices in it?

Thanks
