Here is an interesting website I ran across. It is a Patent design website. Check out some of the patents for designs that never made it past the drawing board. Also has patent dates for station designs that were used. Would be helpful in dating the use of old stations. That's really cool, Chuck. Did you notice the link to Oldgas.com in the description of the Shell gas station design patent? Wow! ------------------ IP: Logged |

Did the "All In One" Air - Gas - Water dispenser ever really get made?(1946) Probly NOT, but BENNETT had the 145-4 STATION MASTER in 1935 with AIR, WATER, GAS & DISPLAY. db IP: Logged |

The "air-gas-water" unit was patented by Erie, but I doubt if any one was ever made. Remember, all of these are "Design" patents, anyone could patent a design and hope he could sell it to a pump company or an oil company. While a few of these probably made it to being built, most were not. It would take a great deal of research to determine which ones were actually built. Jack Sim IP: Logged |
