I'm looking for an A38 and none of them ever have tops. Why are these things so hard to find? Arent they all stainless steel so they wont rust away? Just curious.

Tops were made plain steel, Stainless, Alum. & porcelain. With & without globe holders. Some without a globe holder, have a bracket for a price holder.
Eons ago [25yrs +/-] I had an all alum. A-38 [didn't know how rare it was & sold it].

Kartracer66:

Vic's 66 sells a reproduction top made out of fiberglass and a cast aluminum globe holder. That should get you going. Then if you find a Stainless Steel version at a Gas Bash - all ya gotta do is swap it out.

Later . . .

Jim

I have had a few of these pumps and only one has had the top also.My guess was that the top created some trouble maybe on removal for the glass and they got lazy????Mine was very hard to get apart without scratching or ruining the top when I took it apart.Try Tom Buckles, not sure if hes in Indiana or washington anymore?????

Thanks for the plug T-Way, but we are out of (and possibly discontinuing) the A-38 fiberglass top. We have plenty of the globe mounts, trim, faces, etc. but no tops.
Sorry guys, Seth

It's not pretty [rust thru], but can be repaired & has a globe holder.
