hey guy's, I was wondering if anyone could post a picture or email me of a 20's 30's or 40's picture of a truck with the galvanized 5 gallon oil can's on back going to the farm or what ever. I have a few Standard oil ect. And would like to put the picture behind them showing how they were used. Or any other pictures of them being used. Some one posted one a while back, but I lost it. P.S Thank you to you who wrote me back on the history of the falcon can's, it was just what I was looking for. Thanks again Phil. B Vancouver Island B.C IP: Logged |

Phil; Here is another way they were carried. Took these at the Indiana State Fair of a CO-OP truck that has been restored. Chuck IP: Logged |

Is this what you're after? Is that a milk wagon or are they delivering oil? I often see the galvanized cans for sale as milk cans, but that would be a bad mix with motor oil or gas. This is a Standard oil truck leaving the bulk oil plant at the end of the railroad spur in Los Olivos, California. The depot is still there today, but the train and tracks are long gone. IP: Logged |
