Great post Jack.... and if there is ever a book that a person should have 2 of it is your gas pump ID book..... one to keep by the computer and one in the pick-up....
Brent.... I'm with sslick68 the lady is asking a very fair price..... no reason to talk her down.
Call me stupid, but there have been a couple of times I paid more than the person was asking for something and I'm not made of money either.

$160 FOR BOTH OF THOSE PUMPS IS A GIFT! AS WITH ANY HOBBY, SOMETIMES WE GET STUFF CHEAP OR FREE AND OTHER TIMES WE PAY A LITTLE MORE THAN WE'D LIKE TO GET A NICE PIECE FOR OUR COLLECTIONS. I LOOK AT IT THIS WAY...IT'S ALL ABOUT AVERAGES, RIGHT?

GET OVER THERE AND GET THOSE PUMPS!

Consider this;

You may feel better if you grind the price down and you may feel that That is just the way You do it.

However if they ever mention the deal to someone that knows the market, and they will likely let them know what they were worth.

Now comes the part that can hurt;

When the unearth more stuff, or remember that the neighbor down the road has that double glass pump tht looks like lighthouses with the station name lights on top, which buyer do you think they are going to call ???

Live for the moment or live for the long haul...

$75 is a steal. Get them & dont barter the price it is a steal anyway. Talk with her a while & ask about any other idems she might have. You could leave her your name & number in case she or her friends have anything else. I find that spredding the word that you will buy stuff like this will bring idem to you.

PS If you pass "I hope you dont" I will drive to Texas for them at that price lol

Hey Wes,I have a story for you.I once told a guy about a prestine 67 chevelle big block hood out of texas.I dont know if you know parts but they easily bring 750 nowadays.I told the guy not to jew around and just pay the 450 for it.He thought the same thing you do and guess what,my friend was able to get the hood for 100,after the guy ran over it 4 times.What happens here is some people dont have the time to waste,especially if its already a good deal.I like deals to but when they are already sugar coated with chocolate on top I just pay the bill,not made of money also,I work for a living.Nothing personal intended here!sslick68

OK, the eagle has landed, the hay's in the barn, mission accomplished, etc. They are safely in my shop, I'll post 'em on BOTW tonight. I gave her what she was asking, $150 for the pair and didn't try to talk her down. She might help me with something else. Thanks again for everyone's input.
