How big do the Texaco stars get?

I saw one this weekend up in Wis. on the side of a house, must of been 3 to 4 foot from tip to tip. How many sizes were there?

Were they ever repo., this one is 16" from tip to tip, with heavy porcelain.

...around here, I have seen MANY unpainted large 3-D stars that are the same style as the Texaco stars, but MUCH larger, and basically consisting of bare steel, with rather rough welds - they are new, sold as 'rustic decor' at lawn/garden stores and the flea market...probably an import...without a photo, it's hard to tell if your star is one of these...of course, I guess a guy could take one of these 'rustic' stars, and paint it red...from a distance, it would look just like a larger version of the legitimate Texaco star...

I have seen a lot of stars made from riveted sheet metal, They're generally in the 8 inch to 16 inch range, and generally just painted with spray paint or painted all craftsy like. They turn up in antique stores all the time.

Every time I see one I get all excited then realize it's not a Texaco one...

The Originals were 16". The first one's were porcelain, later one's were plastic. I too have seen the newer steel/tin? one's that are being made as decorator items.
