I'd heard it would happen, I read others miseries, I tried to be careful, but it still broke! I felt I just had to get my cylinder out of the top holder as the top was in bad shape. I started working my way around carefully, just really getting started, and then the BOOM! Scared the @#$%^&* out of me. When I could breathe again, I noticed it at least wasn't totally destroyed. It broke on a rather clean line all the way around about an inch and a half from the end. So I at least can still have about a 9&1/2 gallon visible! IP: Logged |

Thanks for the compassion everyone. I know why Rex likes porcelain, it doesn't break! IP: Logged |

The POOR PUMPIE, In it's younger days, it did it's job. It kept Rex from walking or riding in a horse & buggy. SPRING, SUMMER HEAT, FALL & WINTER COLD. Rex pushed it outside because it might leak ON THE FLOOR ! & in the cold of WINTER, TOO ! Soon he will be selling it also ! Have you no heart ? LOL IP: Logged |

I just drove 1075 miles today to pick up my first "square visible". I actually made it back without breaking it, and I don't think I'll ever try to trmove another one. I don't know yet how this Butler comes apart, but if it comes to restoring it or chancing breaking that cylinder, it's going to stay rusty. IP: Logged |

I could sell you a square bowser and you would only need to travel 120 miles. LOL I have been ther done that 2400 miles round trip for me. Is this a sickness or what. Brandon IP: Logged |

Since the Butler I just bought has 3 BB holes in it, I was wondering about using this cylinder in it. The remains are still 24 1/2" or longer. Has anyone had experience with a glass shop or cutter to make them think I could get these edges cleaned up? Or am I further tempting fate? IP: Logged |
