Hi I have a collective esso plate or maybe ashtray im not sure, it has 3 sets of grooves that could have been for an ashtray, it has never been used it says

ESSO (in the oval)
HENRY W. EBEN
Your Esso Agent
Slave Lake, ALTA.
PHONE BUS. 8; RES. 6

on the back it says

GEORGIAN CHINA (in a circle with a picture of a person on a horse and some other decoritive markings on the sides)
USA ORIGIN
22 KT. GOLD

the plate is about 5.5 inches in diameter
cream colored with gold rim and 3 gold pine cone displays the writing is all in gold as well

any information to help me find out how old it is would be great, thanks in advance for your help

Probably teens or 20s by the phone number. If it were in the uS, the phone number would have likely become six digits by the late 20s to 1930. (ALTA 6 is a 5-digit type). I have no idea how it worked in Canada though...

If it was before about 1948 it would say Imperial and have 3 stars.

Usually it goes for whatever you can get for it, make sure you put town in the listing. I always search for Kelowna stuff ( and buy a lot of carp I really do not need!!)
