What method(s) work best for the ribbed trim on the door and the corner protection trim?

A good paint stripper..... Those pieces are most likely Stainless Steel. As tough as they are, they will scratch if you use sandpaper or scotchbrite....

Try compressed air or pressure washer to get the easier stuff off..

What paint stripper do you recommend? I have some laquer thinner. Would that be too harsh?

Chuck,
SEM makes a good stripper, I have used xxx paint stripper as well and had good results. Make sure you wear a resperator and rubber gloves, that stuff can be a little hardcore. You should be able to get help at any compentant automotive paint supplier.

I use Klean-Strip KS-3 Premium Stripper. I get it at Home Depot. It works in 15 minutes. The paint blisters off the surface, and you can scrape it off with a plastic putty knife. If you have multiple layers of paint, put another coat of stripper on right after you scrape off the first coat. I've had excelent results with this stuff. Use gloves and a respirator, and duse it outside. If you use it in a shop or garage, No smoking, open flames or pilot lights. Just read the instructions and use common sense. Let us know, in the for sale or trade forum, if you will be parting the other pumps out. I dont need any parts, but some of the other guys do.

You might also want to try the electrolosys method....
