We cleared some brush out from behind our school and found a gas pump that is mounted to a piece on concrete. I have found some info on the pump. It is made by Martin & Schwartz out of Salsbury MD. Model number is "2". There is also a serial number on it. Does anyone know about this pump? The last gas price on it is "15 3/10 of a cent per gallon. I can't find a year on the pump but the cover says "Mobile Kerosene" I think. Any information would be of great interest to me. We don't know what to do with it. Should we throw it away or sell it to the highest bidder???? IP: Logged |

ok, I have uploaded pics to ImageShack but I don't know what to do now. If you sent me an email earlier wanting pics, please send me another request because your addresses are on my PC at home. I will send you the pics. Here is what is written on the metal plate on the side "Pennsylvania Serial No. 31" " Martin & Schwartz, Inc." "Salisbury, MD USA" "Model 70 Series 2 Serial No. 16746" Underwriters Laboratories, Inc., Inspected, Power Operated Discharge for Hazardous Liquids, No. 897043" Hope that helps you. The code with [img= does not work. I'll try to convert your links to images... ------------------ [This message has been edited by Oldgas (edited 02-04-2006).] IP: Logged |

It looks to be a M&S 70 From the 30s. It is worth $450 in the book. Yours would be worth a little less than that. Good Find ![]() IP: Logged |

IMO, you will have to deduct for new doors, faces, sight glass, crank, and repairs to the top. The book shows that it came out in 1937, and I would guess it was available into the early to mid 40s. It's a very neat looking pump - I like it. Wes IP: Logged |
