Do any of you guys know about Rebel gas? A guy I know called me and said he found a 6' Rebel Gas sign. He said it was "nice and clean", looked really cool. He said he was seriously thinking about buying it...$3000. Sounds a little pricey to me but I don't know. Just curious what as to what you guys think... IP: Logged |

WAY too expensive for a 6' Rebel sign or, in most cases, any 6' sign. They just don't have a value because so few people have room to hang them Ray IP: Logged |

It's a very rare sign. I'm not sure on the price. Probably on the high side. Rebel globes command very high prices. 10 years ago there wasn't much interest in those big signs but more collectors are buying them these days.....at higher prices than ever before too. IP: Logged |

I've seen mint 6' Texaco's upwards of $1200 lately. I saw a 1960's 6' shield-type dino at Columbia for $1000. I've sold 6' Frontiers for $3200. So it may not be obscenely-priced after all. There is a 6' Mustang in my sale that I suspect will exceed $5000. You're right about the Rebel globes Bob, there was one at Columbia for north of $3000. We are selling one on the 18th, I hope it brings that kind of money! Condition will be the key on the Rebel...I'd say if it was a 9+ then the price is strong, but not ridiculous. IP: Logged |
