Hello! I am helping an elderly family member clean out his barn & garage. One of the petrolium items he has is a large standing pump of some sort that he has no idea what it should look like, and I want to help him restore it. This is NOT my normal field of interest and I've searched all over the internet. Pump stands taller than me and is marked: AERO PUMP with a Boyle-Dayton co. ID tag that's to faded to read. It looks like a tall drum where one part slides up and down. Will this be in Mr. Sim's book: 'Gas Pump Identification Book'??? ANY Help would gladly be appreciated. (The gentleman is about 80 years old and has a bunch of gas and oil pumps, old swiveling stop/go lights, ect.) Thank-You very much, Nitro IP: Logged |

Wow! That was fast AND great news! The gentleman lives out of town from me, and I'm hoping that the next time I go up, I can have photo's and and pertinent information when I get there. He's sure got fun stuff worth taking photo's of; and the items that he's already restored are beautiful. I thought a couple were reproduction items at first till I saw the poloroids of the tear downs. So Yes, I'd dearly love (and appreciate) a couple pictures of what it's supposed to look like. I imagine that it had something crowning the top. I couldn't actually tell if it was a petrol, oil, or grease pump; but as I have mentioned, it's not my specialty. I really like old NASCAR Stock Car racing stuff. Nitro IP: Logged |

Your pump is indeed shown on page 127 of my Gas Pump ID book. If you want a copy you can purchase it right here on this website. The picture was taken from original literature, which shows both the open and the closed view, if you wish to purchase a copy, email me. Jack Sim IP: Logged |

Will the book give real detailed pictures? Or do I need to get something else besides??? Thanks, Nitro IP: Logged |

The direct copy of the literature from Jack might end up large / easier to deal with, and have a little more info. I'd go for that. Wes IP: Logged |
